Welcome to my page. Here is my brief Introduction. I was born in Rawalpindi the twin city next to Islamabad in Pakistan. I did my early schooling from Presentation Convent School Rawalpindi, Saint Mary's Cambridge School Rawalpindi, Pakistan Air Force Model College Sargodha and Military College, Jhelum. I did my Graduation in Nautical Sciences from Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi and joined the Nautical (Executive) Branch of the Merchant Navy in Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, the national flag carrier.
I served as Deck Cadet, Third Officer and Navigating Officer on various Foreign Going Cargo / Passenger Ships and Container Vessels, and visited about 85 countries of the world namely:-
Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Burma (now Myanmar), Maldives, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Philippines, China, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, South Yemen & North Yemen (now Yemen), Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Lebanon, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Morocco, Kenya, Madagascar, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, Benin, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Libya, Algeria, USSR (now Russia), Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Romania, United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, East Germany & West Germany (now Germany), USA, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Panama & Cuba.
Finally I left the Merchant Navy and joined the Postal Services of Pakistan, through Central Superior Services ( CSS) Competitive Examination.
I Served as Divisional Superintendent of Post Offices in the field, Junior & Senior Instructor at Postal Staff College, Principal, Postal Training Centre, Islamabad before being posted at present assignment as Chief Inspector of Training & Recruitment at Pakistan Post Headquarters in Islamabad. I am also working as Project Director of E. Post Division of Pakistan Post ( Developing IT Products ), Project Coordinator of Postal Information Technology Centres (IT Training Centres at Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad & Peshawar) and Coordinator of Post Infotech of Pakistan Post Foundation & served as first Chief Operating Officer of Post Mall, Islamabad, a new concept in paperless and fully computerized postal facility.
I also held the additional charge of the post of Director (Computerization & Automation) at Postal Headquarters. I am the Web Master & Web page coordinator of the Web Site and Web Mail Site of the Pakistan Post on the Internet. I was also the Project Office coordinator for the Automation of Postal Counters at Islamabad GPO and Post Mall, Islamabad a project undertaken by NCR Corporation based on Universal Postal Counters using a Windows NT based local area network which has already gone on-line at Post Mall and GPO in Islamabad.
During my service in Pakistan Post I visited Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Japan. I Did various courses in Pakistan and abroad including Postal Management & International Postal Services , Instructors Training, Training of Trainers, Marketing, Information Technology & Systems, Spread Sheet Analysis, Radar Observer, Fire Fighting, First Aid to Injured, Electronic Navigational Aids (Operation), Survival at Sea, Life-Boat Man, Efficient Deck Hand, Nuclear Biological & Damage Control, Civil Defense, Course Designers & Developer using the UN Training Concept of TRAIN AIR / TRAIN POST etc and Postal Banking Courses, Workshops & Seminars.
I am well versed in Computer Applications using the Windows 2000 including MS Office, Internet, Email and Web Page Designing and Development. I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE Tack 4.0), and holder of Certification in E. Commerce from NCR Education Centre in Islamabad.
I did a course in RUSSIAN Language, a Certificate Course in Information Technology. My hobbies are Hiking, Traveling, Camping, Computers and Long Drives. I am also holder of Restricted Radio Telephone Operator Certificate issued by the Frequency Allocation Board, Government of Pakistan and love HAM Radio and Wireless Communications Globally. I am holder of International Class-IV Deck Certificate of Competency as Navigator on Foreign Going Merchant Ships issued by Director General, Ports & Shipping, Government of Pakistan.
I work as United Nations Consultant for Postal Administration of Afghanistan. I have been appointed as Course Director at Asian Pacific Postal College, Bangkok , Thailand and joined my new assignment on 21st March, 2005.
